Ryanair Opens New Base in Rabat and Adds 7 International Routes to Boost Tourism and Connectivity

Ryanair, the Irish low-cost airline, in collaboration with the Moroccan National Tourist Office, announced the opening of a new operational base at Rabat-Salé Airport starting April 2026. This will be the airline’s fifth base in Morocco, part of an investment estimated at $200 million, aimed at enhancing the country’s air connectivity and increasing the capital’s tourism appeal.

The project includes stationing two aircraft at the Rabat base and operating a network featuring 20 scheduled routes, among which are seven new international routes connecting the European capital to cities such as Milan-Bergamo, Baden-Baden, Frankfurt-Hahn, Nuremberg, Porto, Pisa, and Valencia, set to commence in Summer 2026.

This base is expected to increase Rabat Airport’s capacity by around 45% during the summer season, creating over 800 local job opportunities, including approximately 60 highly qualified positions for pilots and cabin crew.

This collaboration highlights the Moroccan National Tourist Office’s commitment to diversifying international entry points to Morocco and enhancing Rabat’s status as a major tourist destination, especially in the context of the kingdom preparing to host the 2030 World Cup.

With the opening of this fifth base, Ryanair’s total investment in Morocco will exceed $1.6 billion, contributing to strengthening the country’s position as a regional aviation hub and invigorating its tourism sector.
