Russia: Hundreds of Porsche Owners Face Issues Starting Their Cars
Hundreds of Porsche owners across Russia are experiencing difficulties starting their vehicles.
On Friday, the Russian news agency TASS reported that numerous users on social media platforms nationwide have lodged complaints about their Porsches malfunctioning due to a common defect.
Yulia Troshkova, the after-sales service director at the Rolf company, stated that issues related to starting Porsche vehicles have emerged because the factory alarm system inadvertently blocks the car’s ignition via the satellite communication unit.
She added, “Since November 28, we have observed a significant increase in calls from Porsche owners to service centers.”
Troshkova continued, “Our experts have determined that the problem arises from the factory alarm system blocking the ignition through satellite communication.”
Currently, she explained, the issue can be bypassed by resetting the alarm system and then disconnecting it.
She noted that all models and internal combustion engines could be affected by this defect.
Troshkova also pointed out that Mercedes-Benz owners are experiencing similar but limited issues.
She highlighted that experts are currently investigating the matter, suggesting the possibility that it could have been done intentionally.
According to the Russian magazine Avto Review, the defect is more prevalent in Porsche models produced before 2020, with numerous reported cases of vehicle ignition failures.
