Ribab Fusion Launches “Welcome AFCON” Music Video in Celebration of “CAN 2025” Kickoff in Morocco

In conjunction with the launch of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 finals in Morocco, the group Ribab Fusion has released a new music video titled “Welcome AFCON 2025.” This artistic work celebrates African unity and reflects the richness and diversity of Moroccan and continental culture.

The musical piece takes the form of a duet featuring Ribab Fusion alongside Congolese artist Patrick Ilanga, highlighting values of openness and cultural closeness, and embodying the shared African identity through a transcendent musical language.

The music video spans two minutes and thirty seconds and belongs to the Afro music genre, showcasing genuine African rhythms that align with the excitement surrounding this major continental sporting event hosted by Morocco.

This artistic production employs four languages: Arabic, Amazigh, English, and French, aiming to convey a message of unity to a wide audience both within and outside Africa, reinforcing the global dimension of contemporary African art, with vibrant and joyful rhythms that resonate with the spirit of competition and collective celebration.

This artistic project is part of the dynamic Morocco is experiencing in sports, culture, and development, contributing to portraying the kingdom as an African and global destination blending authenticity with modernity. It highlights the Souss–Agadir region as a space rich in cultural, tourism, and sports potential, accompanying the participation of the Moroccan national team, which symbolizes national unity and is a source of pride.

The video features participation from several Moroccan and African traditional groups, including Gnawa and Marrakech-style drumming, adding authentic heritage depth and cultural richness. It was filmed in various notable sites in the Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane region, including Essaouira Airport, Souk El Had, neighborhood sports fields, Al-Embassy Stadium, Agadir Oufella Kasbah, and city scenes—utilizing high-quality filming techniques under the direction of Hicham Al-Abed.

Project organizers emphasized that the “Welcome AFCON” music video transcends mere musical work, serving as an artistic and humanitarian message from Morocco to Africa and the world, reflecting values of coexistence, openness, and celebration of the African continent, presenting a model of modern art that harmonizes traditional authenticity with contemporary spirit.
