The first Casablanca International Boxing Tournament, named after the late Bliout Bouchantouf, is being held at the covered sports hall of the Ibn Masik sports complex in Casablanca from December 25 to 28. The event features clubs from France, Belgium, Senegal, and various national clubs and associations.
This distinguished sporting event is organized by the Casablanca-Settat Boxing League, under the supervision of the Moroccan Royal Boxing Federation, with support and partnership from the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council. Its objectives include enhancing the boxing system in the region through training for technical and administrative staff, referees, and young athletes, as well as supporting competitive clubs and associations, and organizing regional and international sporting events that contribute to raising the competitive level of male and female boxers in preparation for significant challenges.
This important initiative by the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council aims to promote boxing in the region and ensure its constant presence in the national and international sports landscape.
The first Casablanca International Boxing Tournament will honor the late Haj Bliout Bouchantouf, the former president of the Moroccan Royal Boxing Federation, who played a crucial role in enhancing the boxing system for decades, achieving numerous regional, continental, and international successes that the national sports archive proudly remembers from a remarkable era characterized by a man who was passionately devoted to Moroccan boxing.
The general program for the tournament includes a technical meeting for participants on Thursday, December 25, at 6 PM at the Bourkane Sports Center in Casablanca, along with weigh-ins and medical examinations on the morning of Friday and Saturday, December 26 and 27, at 8 AM at the Ibn Masik covered sports hall. The matches will commence at noon, and on Saturday, December 28, medical examinations and weigh-ins will also occur at 8 AM, with the final matches starting at 3 PM.
