Minister Abdellatif Wahbi received his Italian counterpart Carlo Nordio on Friday, December 5, 2025, in Rabat as part of an official visit during which he leads a high-level delegation. This meeting falls within the ongoing efforts to enhance Moroccan-Italian partnership in the field of justice.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss various topics on the bilateral cooperation agenda, as well as to assess the level of judicial coordination between the two countries. The discussions focused on ways to develop common mechanisms that serve the strategic interests of both parties, particularly concerning the modernization of the justice system, improving procedural efficiency, and strengthening mutual trust between the judicial institutions.
Following that, they reviewed the results of their joint work over the past few years, emphasizing the importance of elevating existing agreements and developing coordination tools to combat organized crime, which would facilitate the provision of more effective judicial services and enhance collaboration in this vital area.
During the meeting, Abdellatif Wahbi noted that the justice sector in Morocco is experiencing “a profound transformation” that includes modernizing infrastructure, adopting digitization, and developing judicial management methods, all aimed at improving citizens’ access to justice services.
In turn, Italian Minister Carlo Nordio expressed his appreciation for the level of cooperation between Rabat and Rome, pointing to the strong ties between the two countries and affirming his country’s readiness to continue supporting a partnership “based on trust, efficiency, and a shared vision for modern and open justice.”
