Investment of 2.3 Billion Dirhams Launches Comprehensive EUWEN TEXTILES Project and Repositions the Textile Industry in Morocco

The EUWEN TEXTILES project is based on a total investment of approximately 2.3 billion dirhams, distributed between the cities of Fes and Skhirat, aiming for a profound transformation in the textile sector in Morocco. This will be achieved through the establishment of an integrated industrial model that encompasses various stages of the value chain, from cotton spinning to ready-made garment production.

On Wednesday in Fes, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Integration, and Policy Evaluation, Karim Zidan, confirmed that this project, managed by EUWEN TEXTILES, a subsidiary of the Chinese group Sunrise, is grounded in a structured industrial vision aiming for full vertical integration of the sector, thus enhancing national industrial competitiveness.

During the official launch ceremony of the EUWEN TEXTILES unit in the Ben Suda industrial zone in Fes, the minister explained that the project will be established at two strategic locations in Fes and Skhirat and will cover all industrial operations, from spinning and weaving to sewing and tailoring. This will contribute to increasing production capacity, enhancing local integration, and meeting international market demands.

Zidan pointed out that the textile sector is one of the historical pillars of the Moroccan economy, both in terms of exports and job creation, highlighting Fes’s unique position as a reservoir of industrial expertise and a symbol of the national textile industry, thanks to its qualified human resources and deep-rooted production traditions.

He argued that the implementation of structured projects such as EUWEN TEXTILES could reposition the Fes-Meknes region on the national industrial map and integrate it into the new generation of comprehensive industrial platforms capable of respecting international standards.

According to the presented data, the industrial unit is expected to enter the production phase starting in the third quarter of 2026, with significant economic and social implications, particularly regarding employment and local development.

For her part, Cecilia Liu, Business Development Director at EUWEN TEXTILES, praised the investment climate in Morocco, describing it as stable and attractive. She affirmed that the royal vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI played a decisive role in bolstering the confidence of international investors and developing economic cooperation.

She emphasized that launching the project in Fes represents the beginning of what she termed a “historic” phase, with a gradual ambition to create up to 10,000 jobs, making this project a vital lever for economic and social development.

Liu stressed the fully integrated nature of the project, where all production stages will be carried out within Morocco, contributing to reducing the structural imbalances faced by the sector and enhancing the “Made in Morocco” label as a reference for quality and industrial sustainability.

The launch ceremony was attended by key figures, including Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour, Wali of the Fes-Meknes region Khalid Ait Taleb, the President of the Regional Council, and the Governor of Moulay Yacoub Province, alongside a number of economic and institutional actors.
