34 Women’s Projects Recognized at the Tenth Edition of the “Excellence Award for Moroccan Women”
Thirty-four women-led projects aimed at significantly improving the status of Moroccan women were awarded yesterday, Monday, in Rabat, during the tenth edition of the “Excellence Award for Moroccan Women,” organized under the esteemed patronage of King Mohammed VI.
This edition adopted a regional and territorial approach aimed at instilling principles of spatial justice and enhancing the social and economic impacts of the award, while also reaching out to rural areas and remote regions to ensure equal opportunities for women across different parts of the kingdom.
The first place was awarded to the Association of Parents and Guardians of Students from Hassan Al-Araichi Schools, the Future Cooperative for Seaweeds, the Association Al-Noor for Rural Women’s Empowerment in Sidi Daoud, the “Taymatin” Agricultural Cooperative for Producers of Aromatic Roses, the Women’s Agricultural Cooperative “Taymatin,” the “Zound Zik” Cooperative, the Ouled Sassi Cooperative, the “Eco-Village Dakhla” Cooperative, the Friendship Caravan Association for Social Development, the “Sanad Ouled Mubarak” Agricultural Cooperative, and the Women’s Solidarity Association.
The second place went to the Rouaa Association for Social and Cultural Development, the Safa Agricultural Cooperative, the “Eco Oasis Zagora” Cooperative, the “Home Secret” Cooperative, the Skouri Sewing Cooperative, the “Naha” Cooperative for Incense and Perfumes, the Ladies of Guelmim Cooperative, and the weavers’ Cooperative “Al-Achichat,” along with projects from MOZOONA, Nouha Bouabdallah, and “The Second Chance – New Generation” at Jorf El Melha.
Third place was awarded to the “Bio Slim” Cooperative, the Bayaan Cooperative, the Premium Herbs Cooperative, the Treasure Land Cooperative, the Wool Craft Cooperative of Ouled Dekk, the Al-Nada Association for the Reception and Empowerment of Women in Difficult Situations, the Ait Mhend Cooperative, the Al-Farah Textile Cooperative, the “Atlas Warehouse” Cooperative, the “Amoud Nait Bouflin” Cooperative, the Jewel of the Desert Association, and the “Taysir Art” Cooperative.
During the event, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family, Naima Ibn Yahya, emphasized that the award serves as a platform to cultivate a culture of recognition and shine a light on women’s experiences that create tangible change on the ground, opening promising avenues for future generations.
She highlighted that this year’s edition carries a special significance as it marks ten years of celebrating Moroccan women as essential agents in building a more cohesive society, noting that the adoption of a regional approach represents a qualitative shift aimed at reducing disparities between regions and enhancing equal opportunities.
The Minister added that this edition experienced exceptional dynamism, reflected in the candidacies that showcased a wide territorial representation, confirming that the award will not be limited to the moment of recognition but will also support 71 initiatives that reached the final stages, facilitating their access to support, guidance, and funding.
For her part, the Chairwoman of the Tenth Edition Jury, Maryam Bensaid Chaqroun, stated that the “Excellence Award for Moroccan Women” represents an ongoing national pathway to acknowledge the role of Moroccan women and their capacity for creativity, innovation, and creating sustainable social impact, emphasizing that it aligns with the royal vision that positions women as a fundamental lever for development.
She explained that this edition received around 718 applications, including 658 projects submitted by women and 60 submitted by men, praising the quality and diversity of the submissions, which reflect a spirit of initiative and engagement in sustainable development.
It is worth noting that the “Excellence Award for Moroccan Women,” organized this year under the theme “Excellence of Moroccan Women: Creativity and Leadership,” aims to promote promising women’s initiatives and empower creative women with the resources necessary to ensure the sustainability of their projects and enhance their social impact.
