El Jadida: Coordinating Meeting to Present Updates on the New Criminal Procedure Law

The Public Prosecutor’s Office at the El Jadida Court of First Instance organized a training meeting yesterday, December 3, 2025, with judicial police officers in the judicial district. This initiative was in response to directives from the Public Ministry regarding the dissemination of the contents of the circular related to the new law No. 03.23 amending and supplementing the Criminal Procedure Law, which will come into effect on December 8, 2025.

The meeting was attended by security officials and judicial police officers from both the National Police and the Royal Gendarmerie. It focused on the key updates of the new law, particularly those aimed at strengthening crime-fighting mechanisms, enhancing guarantees for fair trials, modernizing preliminary investigation methods, and protecting victims and minors.

Several deputy prosecutors presented reports on managing preliminary investigations, the oversight of the Public Prosecutor’s Office over investigation procedures, modern investigative techniques, and the specific rules applicable to minors. The Public Prosecutor also provided practical guidelines to facilitate the correct application of the new provisions.

Judicial police officers expressed their readiness to implement the provisions of the law under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The meeting concluded with the announcement of the formation of a local joint taskforce between the Public Prosecutor’s Office and security agencies to monitor the implementation of the legal updates within the El Jadida judicial district.
