The completion of the Ain Harouda interchange project at a cost of 750 million dirhams ahead of schedule

The National Highway Company of Morocco announced its successful completion of the conversion works for the Ain Harouda interchange, which serves as the northern entrance to Casablanca, ahead of the project’s scheduled timeline. The total cost for this strategic project was approximately 750 million dirhams, making it one of the key road connections facilitating smooth travel between the northern and southern regions of the Kingdom.

This interchange holds immense importance as it is located on a vital road segment that experiences heavy traffic flow of nearly 140,000 vehicles daily, connecting the western Mohammedia interchange and Ain Harouda. It is a main artery for accessing the economic capital and the industrial area of Mohammedia. The project primarily aims to enhance traffic safety standards and increase the road’s capacity while completely separating traffic flows to ensure smooth movement for travelers.

The project included the construction of extensive infrastructure featuring 11 engineering structures, comprising 3 underpasses and 8 overpasses, alongside the establishment of 8 lanes in each direction. A new elevated intersection was created above the Mohammedia industrial area, providing a direct link between the urban and ring motorways of Casablanca, thus ending the era of intersection points and congestion in this corridor.

In a move highlighting the development of national engineering capabilities, the company confirmed that the design and implementation of the project were entirely carried out by Moroccan professionals under the supervision of its technical teams and its subsidiary, ADM Infrastructure, with support from local authorities. The project was financed by the Ministry of Equipment and Water, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, along with the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council.

Travelers are expected to experience the immediate impact of this project through reduced traffic pressure on Casablanca’s entrances, providing a more secure and quality travel experience, thanks to advanced technical equipment and a design that clearly delineates lanes according to each direction.
