The Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers praises the royal vision that made security a partner in development in Morocco

In a notable statement on the sidelines of the 93rd session of the General Assembly of Interpol held in Marrakech, the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, Mohammad bin Ali Koman, affirmed that Morocco has succeeded, thanks to the wise directions of King Mohammed VI, in establishing a security model that centers on serving the citizen, moving beyond the traditional concept of crime fighting towards a comprehensive developmental vision.

Koman explained that the Moroccan security institution has become a direct partner in enhancing the climate of stability and supporting the developmental dynamics seen in Morocco. He noted that this transformation reflects the security agencies’ commitment to continuous development in line with a far-sighted royal vision aimed at elevating the country towards greater prosperity and advancement.

In this context, the Arab official highlighted the special attention that security agencies pay to protecting the dignity of citizens and safeguarding their rights, stating that the initiative of “National Security Open Days” has become an annual event that deepens the trust between the police and the community, offering a pioneering experience that several Arab and foreign countries draw inspiration from.

Koman pointed out that the position of Moroccan security on both the Arab and international levels is evident in the broad trust placed in the kingdom’s security decision-makers, citing the awarding of the Prince Nayef Security Award to the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, as well as the Grand Cross of Merit from the Spanish Civil Guard, in addition to Morocco’s election as the Vice President of Interpol for the African continent.

He added that Marrakech’s hosting of the 93rd Interpol session, with a record participation from around the world, will allow participants to closely observe the advanced Moroccan experience in the field of security, further enhancing Morocco’s position within the international security cooperation framework and benefiting Arab nations.

Additionally, the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers reminded that Morocco plays a pivotal role within the Arab security system, as it hosts the Arab Organization for Social Defense against Crime, as well as the Arab Office for Civil Protection and Environmental Affairs. Koman viewed this step as consistent with the royal vision of security as a guarantee for protecting citizens, promoting sustainable development, and addressing environmental challenges.

He concluded by stating that Morocco today offers an advanced Arab model in integrating security and development, positioning it as a fundamental pillar in promoting regional and international cooperation in facing emerging threats.
