Oman’s Ambassador Praises Fraternal Relations with Morocco on Omani National Day

On Wednesday, November 20, 2025, Oman celebrated its glorious National Day, commemorating the historical date of the founding of the Al Bu Sa’id dynasty in 1744, under the leadership of the founding Imam Ahmad bin Said Al Bu Sa’id, which established the foundations of sovereignty, unity, and national dignity.

In a speech delivered by His Excellency Khalid bin Salem Al Bamakhlafi, Oman’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, he emphasized the progress of Omani renaissance since 1970, initiated by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said and continued under Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. He added that the Sultanate strives to achieve a balance between authenticity and modernization to ensure a more prosperous and sustainable future.

The Omani ambassador highlighted Oman’s diplomatic role based on positive neutrality, dialogue, and respect for international law, stressing the Sultanate’s support for the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and rejecting attacks on the sovereignty of nations. He called on the international community to enhance peace and stability in the region.

He also shed light on the depth of Moroccan-Omani relations, exemplified in economic, cultural, and academic cooperation, as well as the agreements signed during the seventh session of the joint committee in April 2025, which included areas of digital transformation, energy, tourism, and sports. He affirmed the two countries’ commitment to enhancing cooperation to serve the interests of their fraternal peoples.

Ambassador Al Bamakhlafi concluded by reiterating the progress Oman is achieving in economic fields, sustainable development, and environmental sustainability, praising national efforts to achieve net carbon neutrality by 2050, and highlighting Oman’s role in protecting the environment and preserving resources for future generations. He expressed his gratitude to all Moroccan entities for their support in making the celebration of this glorious national occasion a success.
