The meeting reflects a qualitative shift in the country’s approach to development by focusing on:
- Preparing programs at the local level to ensure that the needs of citizens are met.
- Conducting a precise territorial diagnosis to identify potentials and imbalances.
- Adopting a participatory approach that involves elected officials, authorities, decentralized services, civil society, and the private sector.
- Coordinating sectoral policies and unifying efforts around common priorities.
- Emphasizing results andtangible impacts rather than temporary projects.
In his speech, the region’s governor emphasized that the primary goal of these programs is to reduce disparities between different areas and within them, focusing on human development through job stimulation, improving education, expanding access to healthcare services, and ensuring decent living conditions.
Participants highlighted the key developmental challenges facing regional municipalities, underscoring the importance of a participatory and integrated approach to ensure balanced and sustainable development that enhances the region’s attractiveness.
