President Vladimir Putin will make a state visit to India on December 4 and 5, responding to an invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Kremlin’s press office announced on Friday.
The statement indicated that the visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and will provide an opportunity for Moscow and New Delhi to discuss priority international and regional issues. Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the Russian president, earlier confirmed that both Moscow and New Delhi are intensively preparing for what he described as a “fruitful” visit.
