Morocco continues to enhance its status as one of the foremost tourist destinations worldwide, having made a significant impression in various international rankings for the period 2025-2026. These rankings highlight the diversity of Morocco’s tourism offerings and its growing appeal to travelers from around the globe.

According to the global ranking by the United Nations World Tourism Organization, Morocco ranked thirteenth among the fastest-growing international tourist destinations, while maintaining the top spot in the Africa and Middle East region. This performance reflects the dynamism of the sector and the effectiveness of the national tourism promotion strategy.

The Kingdom solidified this progress with a new accolade at the 2025 Travel Awards in Brussels, where Morocco was named “Destination of the Year.” This international recognition has been praised by media outlets and tourism experts who described Morocco as a “comprehensive destination” that combines authenticity and diversity, meeting the expectations of various types of travelers.

Morocco’s tourism map is prominently featured in international lists of top destinations, with Marrakech, the most attractive city, securing the third position in The Independent’s list of best sunny destinations for the winter. Meanwhile, Fez, the country’s historical and cultural capital, was noted as one of the prominent emerging destinations, claiming the sixth spot in Travel and Tour World’s “Best Destinations for 2026.”

On the heritage side, the archaeological site of Volubilis maintained its place among the most important Roman landmarks, ranking 19th in The Telegraph’s list of the top 50 remains of the Roman Empire. Additionally, Rabat, the administrative and cultural capital, appeared in National Geographic’s list of best travel locations for 2026, thanks to its mix of modernity and heritage.

In beach and sports tourism, Taghazout shone brightly, placing second in Surfer Magazine’s list of best surfing destinations in November, reflecting Morocco’s growing stature as a world-class spot for surfing enthusiasts.

This robust presence across various international rankings confirms Morocco’s establishment as a global tourist destination rooted in diverse experiences, a rich cultural heritage, and strong infrastructure, enhancing its attractiveness to tourists and supporting its ambition to continue rising among the world’s major tourist destinations.
