Morocco will participate with a delegation of 82 male and female athletes in the sixth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, hosted in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, from November 7 to 21.

The Moroccan National Olympic Committee announced on its official website that the Moroccan athletes will compete in 13 sports categories, including athletics, judo, karate, taekwondo, boxing, wrestling, Muay Thai, jiu-jitsu, duathlon, powerlifting for the disabled, esports, futsal, and sports for people with disabilities.

The committee also noted the organization of a preparatory gathering on October 26 for athletes and coaches, aimed at providing technical and administrative guidance, promoting Olympic values, and encouraging participants to represent Morocco in the best light at this Islamic sports gathering.

In the previous edition held in Konya, Turkey, in 2022, Morocco ranked sixth, winning a total of 62 medals, including 15 gold, 13 silver, and 34 bronze, which gives the Moroccan delegation an added motivation to achieve better results in Riyadh.

The Riyadh 2025 Games will witness the participation of 57 countries and nearly 3,500 athletes competing in 19 main sports, in addition to three sports designated for people with disabilities, across nine different sporting venues in the Saudi capital.

This edition holds special symbolic significance as it returns to its origins, with Saudi Arabia hosting the first edition of these games in 2005 in the cities of Mecca, Medina, Jeddah, and Taif.

The Islamic Solidarity Games are organized under the supervision of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, established in 1985 in Riyadh as a Saudi initiative first proposed during the third Islamic summit in 1981, with the goal of strengthening sports and humanitarian ties among member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
