Morocco Launches Preparations for the 2026 Edition of “GITEX Africa” to Enhance its Position as a Leading Digital Platform in Africa
The Digital Development Agency in Morocco has launched an international open call for proposals to select a specialized consulting firm to provide technical and organizational support for the preparation and organization of the 2026 edition of the “GITEX Africa Morocco” exhibition, with an estimated contract value of 8,095,800 dirhams.
The exhibition is the largest platform for digital innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa, and its upcoming edition is expected to showcase higher aspirations due to its international scale and economic and investment impact on Morocco and the region.
This call is part of the mission of the Digital Development Agency, a public institution established in 2017, which is responsible for implementing the national digitization strategy and promoting the digital transformation of public and private institutions, adopting a participatory approach that brings together various stakeholders to accelerate digital transformation, develop technological tools and platforms, and ensure a suitable regulatory framework for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The exhibition is held under the royal patronage of King Mohammed VI and serves as an international platform to highlight Morocco’s progress in the fields of innovation, digital transformation, and communications, as well as a venue for signing cooperation agreements and building business partnerships while attracting investments in areas such as financial technology, digital health, cybersecurity, renewable energy, and artificial intelligence. The exhibition further solidifies Morocco’s status as an emerging digital hub on the African continent.
The specifications document indicates the significant national stake in the upcoming edition, as it requires the provision of a team of at least 35 experts to cover 19 essential tasks, including project management, communication and public relations, digital transformation, cybersecurity, transportation, reception, accommodation, partnerships, hospitality, in addition to design teams and technical services.
This approach emphasizes Morocco’s commitment to transforming “GITEX Africa Morocco” from a technological event into a strategic lever for development, a catalyst for attracting quality investments, and a bridge to connect African and international economic actors, all within a vision to make the kingdom a continental center for artificial intelligence and digital industry, and an ideal space to direct the economy towards innovation, sustainability, and the creation of high-value job opportunities.
