Moroccan Ambition on the Road: Neo Motors Unveils First Moroccan Electric Car

On the occasion of the third edition of National Industry Day, Nassim Belkhayat, CEO and founder of Neo Motors, revealed the ambitions of the first Moroccan car manufacturing brand, presenting an unprecedented project at both national and African levels, which consists of developing and marketing a 100% electric car made in Morocco.

Belkhayat stated during the event, “On this special day, we wanted to demonstrate that Moroccans can also dream big, even very big: to produce an electric car made in Morocco.” He explained that the new urban vehicle will feature a high local integration rate, including the battery, electrical cables, and the vehicle’s body.

He noted that marketing is set to begin on January 1, 2026, with a starting price of 100,000 dirhams and a three-year warranty, aiming to make it accessible to all Moroccans.

The car boasts a range of up to 150 kilometers and a top speed of 80 kilometers per hour, making it suitable for daily urban use and establishing Neo Motors as a key player in the low-consumption electric vehicle market.

Belkhayat also announced a milestone in the company’s journey, confirming that it has become the first Moroccan and African company to receive full European certification from the Spanish IDIADA organization, allowing it to market its vehicles in Morocco and Europe starting January 2026, with plans to expand into other international markets later.

This project represents a new step in Morocco’s industrial revival, solidifying its position as an emerging player in the electric vehicle sector and sustainable industrial development on both regional and global levels.
