Gambia Reaffirms Its Steadfast Support for Morocco’s Sovereignty Over the Sahara
Gambia has reiterated its unwavering support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara, commending United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797, which reinforces the autonomy initiative as the sole solution to the regional conflict over Western Sahara.
This affirmation came from Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Gambians Abroad, Serinng Modou Njie, during a joint press conference with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, following their bilateral discussions.
The Gambian minister stated that his country values the recent decision of the Security Council, affirming Gambia’s continuous support for Morocco’s autonomy initiative, describing it as the “only solution” to the regional dispute over the Sahara.
