Casablanca Hosts First National Conference on Sports Psychology to Enhance Mental Preparation in Athletic Performance

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, the economic capital hosted the first national conference on sports psychology, organized by the Association of Mental Health Professionals, under the slogan “From Pressure to Performance: How to Control Your Mind.” The event brought together experts, researchers, and professionals from the fields of sports, health, and scientific research.

This scientific event marked a national precedent aimed at highlighting the pivotal role of mental preparation in improving athletic performance and enhancing the psychological well-being of athletes.

The conference featured presentations and discussions focused on strategies for managing pressure, stress, and emotional burden in high-competition environments, advocating for the integration of psychological aspects at various stages of training and coaching.

Discussions also addressed the close relationship between balanced nutrition, sleep, recovery, and mental health, emphasizing the necessity of adopting a holistic approach that unifies body and mind to achieve optimal performance.

The event witnessed the signing of a partnership agreement between the Association of Mental Health Professionals and the Tebo Africa Organization, aimed at launching training and support programs directed at youth, especially those in “second chance” schools, through therapeutic workshops and activities that enhance confidence and life skills.

Participants urged the necessity of incorporating mental preparation into national training programs, training specialists in sports psychology, and establishing scientific and ethical standards for practice, while raising awareness among sports institutions about the importance of psychological support for athletes.

The association confirmed that this initiative falls within a national vision striving to make sports psychology an essential component of human and sporting development, aligning with royal directives that regard sports as a lever for development and social cohesion.
