Akhannouch: Public Investment Allocations Increase by 87% Between 2020 and 2025 to Enhance Social Integration and Spatial Justice
During the monthly accountability session of the House of Councillors on “Territorial Development and the Challenges of Achieving Spatial Justice,” Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch revealed a nearly 87% rise in public investment allocations between 2020 and 2025, indicating they will reach approximately 380 billion dirhams next year.
Akhannouch explained that this increase has directly contributed to strengthening social integration and improving social justice indicators, with enrollment rates reaching around 83% in preschool education, 100% in primary education, and 80% in middle school, alongside nearly complete coverage of the national electricity supply.
In the health sector, the Prime Minister highlighted the government’s efforts in upgrading a new generation of primary healthcare centers, which are expected to reach 1,400 by the end of the year, with two-thirds of them directed to rural and remote areas. Additionally, there will be an enhancement of the hospital network and the generalization of university hospitals, as well as the launch of a program to build 12 blood transfusion centers and a gradual activation of local health groups.
Regarding education, Akhannouch emphasized the continued reforms to develop public schools, through a balanced regional distribution of preschool education programs, and an increase in social support programs that benefited around 217,000 students in boarding schools and 80,000 in school canteens, targeting about 3.2 million children with direct social support in the current school year.
