A young man in his thirties has been remanded to local prison in Oudaia, Marrakech, following charges against him that were issued by the public prosecutor at the Imini Court. The remand took place last Friday amid several criminal accusations.

The legal case against the accused includes charges of intentionally harming a public servant in the course of his duties, resulting in injuries, as well as failure to present an insurance document, non-compliance with legal orders, and possession, consumption, and trafficking of narcotics.

The young man was apprehended by elements of the judicial police at the Royal Gendarmerie in Chichaoua, following directives from the public prosecutor. This came after a member of the local gendarmerie in the municipality of Ait M’hamed was intentionally harmed by the accused near an educational institution on Tuesday afternoon.

Informed sources indicated that the incident led both parties to fall to the ground, and they were subsequently taken to Chichaoua Hospital for necessary medical assistance. The accused was then placed in police custody for investigation, during which he, the victim, and witnesses were interrogated before being brought before the judiciary.

During the search operation, the gendarmerie discovered a quantity of hashish in the possession of the accused, complicating his legal situation further and resulting in additional charges related to drugs.
