Power-to-X Global Summit: Delivery of 25 kW Electrolyzer to the National School of Applied Sciences in El Jadida
On the sidelines of the fifth edition of the Power-to-X Global Summit 2025, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, El Jadida witnessed the delivery of a 25 kW electrolyzer to the National School of Applied Sciences (ENSA) affiliated with Chouaib Doukkali University.
This project is a result of collaboration between Morocco and Wallonia, supervised by the Research Institute in Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN) and the TWEED cluster, with support from Wallonia-Brussels International (WBI) and contributions from John Cockerill. It falls under the SEHIM2 (2023–2027) program, aimed at developing innovative solutions for energy storage and green hydrogen production for the benefit of the Moroccan industry.
The total value of the electrolyzer is €195,000, funded jointly by WBI (€95,000) and John Cockerill (€100,000). Its installation at ENSA will enhance research and training capabilities by providing a sophisticated tool for students and researchers for scientific experimentation and practical training.
This device complements the work of the Green H₂A platform developed by IRESEN and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Jorf Lasfar. While the latter operates at a pre-industrial level, the ENSA electrolyzer serves as an academic tool bridging the university with the industrial reality, contributing to building a competitive ecosystem around green hydrogen.
The delivery of this equipment exemplifies the dynamism of bilateral cooperation between Morocco and Wallonia, merging innovation, knowledge transfer, and local capacity building for a sustainable energy future.
