The Urban Agency of Tetouan has signed a cooperation agreement to enhance territorial intelligence and participated in the Urban October events in Tangier.
The agency participated today, Tuesday, in Tangier during the Urban October 2025 events, organized under the theme “Smart Cities Centered on People,” coinciding with the celebration of World Statistics Day.
The participation came during a study day organized by the Regional Planning Directorate at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services, providing an opportunity to highlight the importance of statistical data in building smart cities that prioritize human development.
The Director of the Urban Agency of Tetouan oversaw a thematic workshop titled “Territorial Statistics in Service of Local Strategic Planning,” during which participants from public institutions, elected bodies, and universities discussed ways to employ territorial statistics to improve governance and enhance sustainable development.
During this meeting, a partnership and cooperation agreement was signed between the Urban Agency of Tetouan and the Regional Planning Directorate. This agreement aims to exchange territorial and statistical data, develop monitoring mechanisms, and support research and analysis in planning and development fields.
This step seeks to unify efforts between the two institutions to enhance territorial intelligence and develop smart planning tools in line with national trends towards more sustainable and responsive cities.
