The RC Kenitra officially expressed its strong protest regarding what it described as “impactful refereeing errors” during the match against Jdr Assafi, in the second round of the “Inwi” professional league, second division, for the 2025-2026 sports season, which was officiated by referee Hassan Zouagha from the Eastern League.
The club confirmed that the match was marred by a series of “questionable decisions” that directly influenced the course and outcome of the game, including the referee’s failure to award two clear penalty kicks in favor of the team during the second half, in addition to other controversial calls.
The statement indicated that the club:
expresses its strong disapproval and protest against the refereeing performance, which it considers a continuation of a “series of mistakes” that affected the team in the previous season.
The club has decided to contact the Central Committee and the National Refereeing Directorate to inform them of all the details of the match, accompanied by video footage documenting the controversial refereeing situations, while demanding that referee Zouagha not be assigned to officiate the club’s matches in the future.
This statement comes in the context of growing voices among several second division clubs calling for intensified scrutiny regarding officiating and ensuring fairness among teams.
