The National Judicial Police have launched extensive operations early this morning targeting several individuals suspected of involvement in recent chaos.
Police forces conducted precise raids in various cities, notably Salé and Agadir, leading to the arrest of several masked individuals and vandals from their homes. They were identified through surveillance cameras and phone recordings during acts of arson and the destruction of public and private property.
According to exclusive information, the security interventions were organized and swift, carried out in full coordination with the public prosecutor and other security teams, particularly the general intelligence service, which provided all data regarding individuals captured on surveillance footage.
The arrested individuals will face serious charges related to forming a criminal gang, participating in riots, causing significant material damage, committing arson, and endangering citizen safety, among other offenses that will lead to prosecution under criminal law.
These arrests occur within a stringent policy led by authorities to confront anyone attempting to sow chaos under the pretext of protests, especially as Moroccan criminal law imposes severe penalties for vandalism and arson, with sentences reaching up to twenty years in prison, or even life imprisonment or the death penalty if such acts result in fatalities or serious injuries.
In this context, security agencies emphasize their determination to hold accountable anyone involved in vandalism, even if they are not immediately apprehended, reinforcing that no one is above the law. This conveys a clear message that the era of impunity has ended, and the state will not tolerate any behavior that threatens national stability and the safety of citizens.
