The Ombudsman of the Kingdom, Hassan Tariq, praised the circular issued by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch on Wednesday, aimed at enhancing coordination and cooperation with the Ombudsman’s office. He considered it a practical translation of the directives from King Mohammed VI to strengthen harmony among constitutional independent bodies and various state institutions.

Tariq’s remarks came during the opening of the institutional forum of the Ombudsman under the theme “Towards Gender-Neutral Governance: For Gender-Based Public Policies.” He explained that the government circular reflects a clear political will to develop effective communication channels between administrations and the institution, thereby enhancing citizens’ trust in public services.

The Ombudsman indicated that the circular is based on Article 89 of the constitution, which defines the government’s competencies in exercising executive authority and overseeing public administrations and corporations. He emphasized that administrative harmony is a fundamental element in reforming the relationship between administrations and citizens.

Tariq stressed that the actual impact of this directive is manifested in activating the “permanent interlocutors” mechanism within administrations, which is one of the core pillars of institutional mediation. This mechanism provides streamlined communication and accelerates the processing of citizens’ complaints while promoting values of fairness and transparency.

The Prime Minister had issued a circular last Monday urging his ministers to enhance coordination and interaction between public facilities and the Ombudsman’s office. This step confirms the institution’s pivotal role in resolving administrative disputes and building trust between citizens and the administration.
