The government reaffirms its commitment to education reform and its positive interaction with Parliament
Mustafa Baytas, the official spokesperson for the government, confirmed today, Thursday, that the criteria set for applying to the regional centers for education and training, including the age limit of 35 years, aims to integrate 19,000 new teachers into the education system, marking an unprecedented step to enhance the educational reform process in Morocco.
During a press conference that followed the government council meeting, Baytas noted that the remaining 1,000 positions would be reserved for distinguished teachers, reflecting the government’s commitment to achieving a balance between expanding access and ensuring the quality of education.
The government official also emphasized the government’s responsiveness to Parliament, revealing that it answered 23,000 written questions out of 33,000 over four years, representing 70 percent, in addition to responding to 5,560 oral questions since October 2021. This underscores the continuous and positive interaction with legislative oversight initiatives.
Regarding the draft finance law, Baytas highlighted that the government is focused on promoting economic growth and stabilizing prices, anticipating a growth rate of 5.6 percent with inflation stable at around 2 percent. He affirmed that the volume of public investment would reach 340 billion dirhams this year and is expected to rise to 380 billion dirhams next year, thanks to tax reforms.
Through these measures, the government confirms its commitment to achieving comprehensive and sustainable development, prioritizing the education sector to ensure a promising future for upcoming generations.
