Casablanca Stock Exchange Declines by More than 2%
The Casablanca Stock Exchange experienced a notable decline on Thursday, with the main index, the “MASI,” falling by 2.50% to close at 17,911.44 points, impacted by growing concerns regarding the country’s economic and social conditions.
The “MASI 20” index, which measures the performance of large companies, dropped by 2.41% to reach 1,454.58 points, while the “MASI.ESG” index, dedicated to sustainable companies, lost 1.80%, settling at 1,226.58 points.
The small and medium-sized enterprises index (MASI Mid and Small Cap) was the most affected, plummeting by 3.14% to 1,770.41 points, reflecting the sector’s vulnerability to economic pressures and declining purchasing power.
