The Secretary General of the Confederation of African Football, Veron Mosengo-Omba, arrived in Tangier today for an inspection of the Grand Stadium, which is nearing the final stages of renovations in preparation for hosting the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 in Morocco.
During this visit, Omba was accompanied by several CAF officials, representatives from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the construction company responsible for the work, and local authorities.
The visit aimed to monitor the progress of the construction and review the details of the technical and logistical preparations, just six months ahead of the tournament.
The renovation work at the Grand Stadium has reached its final stages, where the CAF delegation observed the advancements and specifications of the stadium following its reconstruction and modernization.
Two days prior, Omba was in Casablanca, where he oversaw the signing of a new partnership agreement between CAF and one of the main sponsors in anticipation of the upcoming continental event.
The Secretary General is expected to travel to the capital, Rabat, to attend the final match of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, alongside the CAF President, Patrice Motsepe.
