King Mohammed VI presided over a ministerial council today at the royal palace in Rabat, dedicated to discussing the general directions of the draft Finance Law for the year 2026. During the meeting, His Majesty addressed the most important national projects, with a particular focus on strengthening the foundations of the social state.

The government’s draft law emphasizes the expansion of social protection, continuing direct support programs for four million families, and increasing child allowances by amounts ranging from 50 to 100 dirhams for each of the first three children. Additionally, specific support will be provided for orphans and vulnerable children.

The project also places significant attention on the health and education sectors, allocating a financial envelope estimated at 140 billion dirhams, while creating over 27,000 job positions. This includes opening new university hospital centers in Agadir and Laayoune, completing work on Ibn Sina Hospital in Rabat, and modernizing 90 hospitals, alongside accelerating the reform of the education system and enhancing the quality of preschool education.

The social approach also includes expanding participation in pension systems, generalizing unemployment benefits, and supporting the acquisition of primary housing, reflecting the state’s commitment to ensuring citizens’ rights and reducing social and spatial inequalities.
