The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has prepared a draft decree aimed at a comprehensive restructuring of the ministry, in order to align with the anticipated reforms in the health and social protection sectors. This project, which seeks to activate the royal directives concerning the modernization of public administration and the guarantee of the right to health, comes at a time when the country is witnessing significant changes in health governance and digitization.
Among the key changes included in the project is the establishment of four specialized general directorates: the General Directorate of Public Health, the General Directorate for Supporting the Health System and Legal Implementation, the General Directorate of Social Protection, and the General Directorate of Information Systems and Digitization. These directorates aim to enhance coordination among various sectors and improve the effectiveness of the health system, allowing for a quicker and more accurate response to the growing health challenges.
The reform also involves updating some administrative titles and changing others, such as transforming the “Partnership Department with Private Health Professionals and Associations” into an independent directorate, reflecting the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in improving the quality of health services.
This structural reform reflects a strategic vision towards building a flexible ministry capable of providing high-quality and sustainable healthcare for all citizens, as part of a comprehensive update of the Moroccan health system.
