Rabat Prepares to Welcome the Elite Equestrians of the World for the Penultimate Stage of the 2025 Longines Tour

From October 17 to 19, the capital Rabat will become a hotspot for international equestrian enthusiasts as it hosts the fifteenth leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour, featuring the top 30 riders from the international rankings.

The selection of Rabat as a venue for this premier event in the equestrian world follows its notable success in hosting the final of the previous edition in 2024, solidifying its reputation as a leading destination for major sporting events and reaffirming Morocco’s position as an international platform for contemporary equestrianism.

The Rabat stage is pivotal in the championship’s timeline, serving as a prelude to the finals in Riyadh and Prague, where global titles will be determined, adding an exceptional competitive edge that combines precision, skill, and challenge.

Over three days, the audience in the capital will experience the rhythm of individual and team competitions that test the riders’ abilities on meticulously designed courses, alongside parallel events celebrating Moroccan equestrian heritage through artistic performances, music, and a thematic village that blends the sporting with the cultural.

Organizers have highlighted that the event transcends the sporting aspect, reflecting Morocco’s deep connection to its equestrian history, from the art of Tbourida to the breeding of purebred Arab and Berber horses, embodying a rooted relationship between humans and horses, which is being rejuvenated today through global championships and major exhibitions such as the Horse Festival in El Jadida and the Moroccan Royal Tour.

They noted that the success of the 2024 edition, which attracted over 6,500 spectators, provided a strong impetus for the return of the championship to the Moroccan capital, especially following the praise from tour founder and Olympic champion Jan Tops, who described the atmosphere in Rabat as “unique and full of passion.”

This year’s edition is expected to serve as another opportunity to affirm Morocco’s leadership in hosting major international sporting events, thanks to its accumulated experience and the support of the Royal Moroccan Equestrian Federation, along with the commitment of its institutions to develop infrastructure and enhance the presence of equestrian sports in the global sporting landscape.
