Rabat Hosts International Conference to Enhance Mediterranean Cooperation in Military Health Logistics

The Officers’ Club in Rabat hosted an international conference from October 13 to 17 on health logistics services in operational fields, organized as part of the 2025 action plan for the “5+5 Defense” initiative. This event brought together high-level military, medical, and logistics experts from member countries.

The conference marks a significant step in Mediterranean military cooperation, aiming to enhance coordination and exchange experiences among the initiative’s countries by discussing various issues related to managing and supporting health services during military operations, particularly in crisis and emergency situations.

The conference included a series of scientific presentations and specialized interventions addressing the dimensions of military health logistics, especially emergency management and improving interoperability among military health systems to ensure rapid response and effective field coordination.

Field experiences regarding field hospitals and standard logistics were presented as quick and effective solutions to crises, alongside discussions on the environmental aspects of health logistics, particularly in relation to water purification and the safe disposal of medical waste.

Participants highlighted the growing role of technological innovation in developing military health systems, through the use of telemedicine, drones, and robotics, which enhance operational capabilities and field monitoring.

At the conclusion of the conference, a session focused on health logistics planning in military operations was dedicated to showcasing experiences from several member countries, including France, Italy, Spain, Libya, and Mauritania, aimed at exchanging lessons learned and reinforcing regional integration in military health support.

This event, with its strategic and humanitarian dimension, underscores Morocco’s steadfast commitment to supporting Mediterranean cooperation and solidifying its position as a key player in advancing military health logistics concepts, in line with the royal vision aimed at ensuring security and stability while enhancing solidarity among the peoples of both shores.
