Riyad Mazour: “My Only Goal is to Create Job Opportunities for Our Youth”

The Casablanca Stock Exchange, in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, and the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, has launched a new training and support program aimed at high-potential Moroccan industrial companies. The initiative seeks to enhance their growth and facilitate access to financing through the financial market.

During the launch ceremony, Minister of Industry and Trade, Riyad Mazour, emphasized the pivotal role of industry in creating job opportunities and meeting the aspirations of youth. He stated that “one of the biggest needs of our youth is to dream of a better future and build a decent life, and we have young talents capable of creating sustainable jobs.”

The minister explained that industry serves as a direct and indirect lever for growth and employment, calling for an acceleration of expansion into new markets because “creating job opportunities cannot wait.” He highlighted that the national economy is showing positive signs, with a projected growth of 5.5% in 2025, compared to 3.8% in 2024, despite moderate agricultural conditions, reflecting “exceptional investment and industrial dynamism.”

The program targets 30 industrial companies working in strategic sectors including food, pharmaceutical, chemical, and semi-chemical industries, as well as metals. It offers four training units covering entrepreneurial thinking and capital market openness, strategic governance, financing solutions, and the creation and enhancement of each company’s “story of shares.”

At the end of this course, participating companies will receive practical tools enabling them to structure their financial projects and prepare for a potential stock market listing.

Mazour also urged for greater openness to foreign markets to bring in growth and wealth through exports, asserting that “the profits made abroad should return to be invested domestically, creating job opportunities and contributing to development.”

The minister concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting this initiative, stating, “This is beneficial for you, beneficial for the economy, beneficial for youth, and beneficial for the country… Let’s move forward without hesitation.”
