Morocco Today … and Glasses of Yesterday

Morocco Today … and Glasses of Yesterday

- in Society

Since the ascension of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the throne, the Kingdom of Morocco has been progressing steadily and consistently, focusing on enhancing generations of reform and creating sustainable, integrated development plans. The Moroccan model stands out due to its heroic unity, which gave rise to the historical saga of the Revolution of the King and the People.

The King, at the helm of the institution, launched modern measures both in essence and structure, championing a human rights-based vision, aiming for the genuine construction of a modern, democratic, developmental society.

The establishment of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission, headed by a former opposition leader, the return of the leftist Abraham Serfati, lifting the house arrest of Sheikh Abdessalam Yassine, ensuring the presence of the Justice and Development Party despite calls for its dissolution following the terrorist events in Casablanca, affirming the right to protest for what is known as the February 20 Movement, and the forward-thinking speech of March 9, which laid the groundwork for the 2011 Constitution, transcending the concept of separation of powers into a constitution of rights and freedoms and democratic choice.

He is the Commander of the Faithful who advocates for institutions and the popular will, as His Majesty safeguarded the Islamists amidst external pressures from leading two government experiences, reinforcing democratic construction and national decision-making autonomy.

The monarchy, as a national institution with its historical, constitutional, and popular foundations, takes full responsibility for the great trust, effectively managing the country’s affairs. This has enabled Morocco to achieve breakthroughs and successes concerning our territorial integrity and its weight in Africa based on a win-win basis. This success did not come about by chance; rather, it is the fruit of hard work and effort led by His Majesty and supported by the country’s sovereign institutions. These institutions operate on information and provide precise data that empowers decision-makers to take the right and sound direction, such as the General Administration for Studies and Documentation and the General Administration of Territorial Surveillance. These security entities have contributed significantly to establishing Morocco’s rising status, making both domestic and foreign adversaries sharpen their knives of treachery while donning the glasses of yesterday to lash out at today’s Morocco.
