Morocco to Host African Playoffs for 2026 World Cup Qualification

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that Morocco will host the African playoffs for the 2026 World Cup, set to take place next November, featuring four teams competing for an additional spot for the continent in the tournament.

CAF specified that the four teams will participate in a mini-tournament on Moroccan soil from November 13 to 16, to determine which team will advance to the global playoffs scheduled for March, aiming for a ticket to the World Cup being hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

The identities of the four teams will be determined after the completion of group stage qualifiers next month, with participating teams distributed according to their FIFA rankings, set to be released on October 23.

The semi-final matches are expected to be held on November 13, with the final match taking place on November 16, at venues to be announced later.

It is worth noting that Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, and Ghana have already secured early qualification for the 2026 World Cup before the end of the qualifiers.
