On Monday, October 20, 2025, Morocco and Mauritania signed a work program for the years 2026-2027 on the digital transformation of the justice system at the Ministry of Justice in Rabat. The event was attended by Moroccan Minister of Justice Abdellatif Wahbi and his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Ould Soueidate.
The program aims to develop judicial administration and modernize the justice system through the exchange of expertise in digitization, training, and institutional modernization, thereby enhancing transparency, improving judicial services, and bringing justice closer to citizens.
Cooperation will focus on developing digital infrastructure, transforming judicial services electronically, continuous training for judicial personnel, and updating legislation related to modern technologies.
The Moroccan Minister of Justice emphasized that the program reflects the two countries’ commitment to strengthening South-South cooperation and that digital transformation will serve as a lever for improving justice and serving citizens. He also highlighted the importance of coordination to address common challenges such as migration and human trafficking, affirming Morocco’s readiness to share its digital expertise with Mauritania.
For his part, the Mauritanian Minister of Justice expressed pride in Moroccan-Mauritanian relations, underscoring the need to innovate with new partnerships based on solidarity and integration, while praising Morocco’s legislative reforms and its distinguished democratic landscape.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to continue cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, justice, and combating transnational crime and human trafficking, in line with the directives of King Mohammed VI and President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to enhance the higher interests of both countries and promote the African South-South partnership.
