King Mohammed VI Approves New Appointments for Governors and Prefects to Strengthen Local Administration
His Majesty King Mohammed VI presided over a ministerial council on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, dedicated to discussing the general orientations of the draft finance law for 2026, as well as the approval of several regulatory laws and international agreements, in addition to a series of high-level appointments.
At the conclusion of this meeting, His Majesty the King, at the initiative of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior, appointed several new governors and prefects within the territorial administration, a move aimed at strengthening local governance and achieving balanced national development.
The appointments are as follows:
– Mr. Khattab El Habil, Governor of Marrakech-Safi and Prefect of Marrakech.
– Mr. Khalid Ait Taleb, Governor of Fez-Meknes and Prefect of Fez.
– Mr. Mohamed Atfawi, Governor of the Eastern Region and Prefect of Oujda-Angad.
– Mr. Fouad Hajji, Prefect of Al Hoceima Province.
– Mr. Hassan Zaitouni, Prefect of Azilal Province.
– Mr. Sidi Salah Daha, Prefect of El Jadida Province.
– Mr. Abdelkhalek Marzouki, Prefect of Casablanca-Anfa.
– Mr. Mohamed Alami Oudan, Prefect of Zagora Province.
– Mr. Mustafa Al-Maaza, Prefect of Al Haouz Province.
– Mr. Rashid Bencheikhi, Prefect of Taza Province.
– Mr. Mohamed Zahra, Prefect of Inzegane-Ait Melloul.
– Mr. Mohamed Khallafawi, Prefect of Fahs-Anjra Province.
– Mr. Zakaria Hachlaf, Prefect of Chefchaouen Province.
– Mr. Abdelaziz Zrwal, Prefect of Sidi Kassem Province.
