HCP Reports: Decline in Foreign Trade Indicators During the Second Quarter of 2025
The High Commission for Planning has reported a decrease in foreign trade indicators in the second quarter of 2025, with the average value index for imports falling by 5.7% and exports dropping by 0.8%.
The Commission clarified that this decline is primarily attributed to a decrease in the prices of “energy and lubricants” by 19.2%, and “consumer goods” by 6%, in addition to a reduction in “industrial equipment,” “semi-finished products,” and “food, beverages, and tobacco.”
Regarding exports, the decline in the average value of “industrial equipment” by 5.8%, “raw mineral materials” by 11%, and “agricultural equipment” by 12.4% contributed to this downturn, while the increase in “semi-finished products” by 9.8% mitigated the overall decline.
