Authorities announced on Monday that they have found the missing shepherd in his sixties in the province of Ouarzazate after three days of extensive searching, which involved a Royal Gendarmerie helicopter.
An eyewitness, who captured the moment of his rescue on video, confirmed that the shepherd was found in good health and was airlifted for necessary medical care.
According to local sources, the individual, identified as Hussein Chadhli, hails from the Tamsal village in the Tlwat district. He disappeared under mysterious circumstances while working among the rugged hills and mountains of the area.
His location was determined after expanding the search area to include difficult mountainous regions such as Anfarkal, Adrar, and Anghmar Amguous, with the participation of local authorities, Gendarmerie personnel, and dozens of volunteers from neighboring villages.
This development comes after days of anxiety and concern experienced by the family of the missing man and the local residents, who had earlier urged authorities to intervene with helicopters due to the challenging terrain and the difficulty of accessing ground search sites.
