Establishment of 4,048 Companies in the Eastern Region
The Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property reported that the number of companies established in the Eastern Region during the first eight months of 2025 reached a total of 4,048.
According to the general dashboard of the Business Creation Barometer released by the office, these companies are divided between legal entities, totaling 1,657 companies, and natural persons (2,391 companies). The Nador province accounted for the lion’s share with 1,955 newly established companies, followed by Oujda (1,110), Berkane (491), Jerada (191), Taourirt (121), Driouch (116), and Bouarfa (64).
The dashboard also indicated that the trade sector dominated with a 50.55% share of the total companies established, followed by the construction and real estate sectors (15.67%), various services (11.99%), transportation (6.49%), industry (6.18%), hotels and restaurants (4.82%), financial activities (1.91%), information and communication technology (1.23%), and finally agriculture and fishing (1.16%).
In terms of legal form, 63.8% of the established companies are single-member limited liability companies, while 35.8% are limited liability companies, 0.3% are anonymous companies, and 0.1% fall under other categories.
On a national level, the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property reported that the total number of companies established in Morocco during the first eight months of 2025 reached 72,116, divided between legal entities (51,979 companies) and natural persons (20,137 companies).
By region, Casablanca-Settat topped the list with 22,594 companies, followed by Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (9,450), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (9,271), Marrakech-Safi (8,321), Fez-Meknes (4,981), Souss-Massa (4,888), the Eastern Region (4,048), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (2,360), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (2,249), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (1,823), and Drâa-Tafilalet (1,614), with Guelmim-Oued Noun bringing up the rear with 517 companies.
