Egypt’s national team has officially requested a friendly match against Morocco as part of their preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, which will be held in Morocco later this year.
According to media reports, this request was made directly by coach Hossam Hassan, who views the match against the “Atlas Lions” as an ideal test to gauge his players’ readiness for the tournament, given the strength and tactical variety of the Moroccan team.
The Egyptian coaching staff considers the upcoming match a chance to assess defensive performance and test team cohesion against an opponent known for its speed and skill.
For its part, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has shown initial agreement to the proposal, pending the confirmation of an official date after reviewing the “Lions” schedule, as they too are preparing for a series of high-profile friendly matches before the “CAN” on home soil.
