Arrest of “Moussa Falkoun,” Drug Baron Linked to Azghnane Wedding Following a Quality Security Operation in Salé

Elements of the Anti-Gang Unit in Rabat, in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, arrested drug baron “Moussa Falkoun,” who has been the subject of numerous national search warrants related to illegal drug trafficking, settling scores with firearms, and human trafficking.

The notorious baron, commonly known as “Moussa,” was apprehended during a quality security operation executed in Salé on Tuesday, September 30, after accurate data allowed authorities to pinpoint his hiding location.

The suspect’s name was linked to a wedding held in the city of Azghnane last August, an event marked by criminal activities that fell under the jurisdiction of the criminal law.

Available information indicates that Moussa Falkoun fled immediately after a judicial investigation was opened into the criminal events related to the aforementioned wedding, before security forces managed to apprehend him in Salé following a precise operation that involved national territorial surveillance elements.

The suspect’s record in the national wanted persons database shows he is wanted for justice in 51 cases pending before the National Security and Royal Gendarmerie, ranging from the illegal trafficking of hard drugs, human trafficking, armed threats, and involvement in a criminal network.

Due to the judicial investigation ordered by the competent public prosecutor, the suspect has been placed under preventive custody to deepen inquiries into all the criminal acts attributed to him, as well as to determine his connections with networks involved in illegal immigration and illicit drug and psychoactive substance trafficking.
