Arrest of 20 Individuals in Sidi Taybi During Protests Linked to ‘Generation Z’ Unrest

Sidi Taybi, located in the Kenitra region, witnessed violent clashes last night, attributed to protests associated with what is termed ‘Generation Z.’ Dozens of individuals stormed public institutions and a bank branch, in addition to setting a public transport bus on fire, leading to chaos and panic among residents.

Royal Gendarmerie forces swiftly intervened to contain the situation, managing to arrest approximately 20 individuals suspected of direct involvement in these criminal acts. The detainees were transported to Kenitra to be presented before the public prosecutor at the court of first instance, in accordance with legal procedures.

These incidents reflect the violent nature of some protests by those identified as ‘Generation Z,’ which have recently escalated, resulting in attacks on public and private property. Security authorities reiterated their commitment to firmly counter all forms of chaos while ensuring the right to peaceful expression within the confines of the law.
