Akhannouch Responds to Youth Demands and Accelerates Government Projects
Following the recent speech by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the protest expressions and demands witnessed in Morocco, particularly from the youth movement “Generation Z 212” calling for reforms in health, education, and anti-corruption efforts, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch emphasized the necessity for ministers to be present in the field and listen to citizens.
Akhannouch addressed his cabinet members, stressing that every project or action must be clearly explained to the public, whether it relates to the finance bill or sectoral initiatives. He affirmed the importance of outlining what has been achieved, the reasons behind decisions taken, and future plans.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the key term he focused on in his speech, which echoed the royal address, is “acceleration.” He urged ministers to expedite project implementation, engage directly with citizens, and respond to their demands in a tangible manner, especially those voiced by youth during the recent protests.
Akhannouch added that even resolving some local issues counts as a significant success, reiterating the importance of prioritizing and making decisions that positively impact citizens’ daily lives, particularly the youth who have been facing challenges for years.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister confirmed that being close to citizens and the prompt response of ministers are fundamental to translating reforms into tangible outcomes, reaffirming the government’s commitment to meeting citizen aspirations and making public policies a genuine means of national development.
