Train Derailment: Moroccan Embassy Confirms Injury of Moroccan Tourist

A Moroccan citizen residing in Canada was injured in the derailment of the tourist train “Gloria” on Wednesday evening in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. This incident has resulted in dozens of casualties, including both fatalities and injuries.
The Moroccan embassy in Lisbon reported that the affected individual, who was on a tourist trip to Portugal, is currently receiving treatment in a medical facility, adding that her health condition is stable.
Moroccan Ambassador in Portugal, Osman Aba Hanini, stated in a press release that embassy staff is mobilized to monitor the situation and provide necessary support to the Moroccan citizen in coordination with Portuguese authorities.
Local authorities announced that the accident resulted in the deaths of at least 16 individuals and injured 21 others. The Portuguese government declared a national day of mourning on Thursday, describing the event as an “unprecedented tragedy.”
