The National Initiative for Human Development distributes 36 school transport buses in the Kenitra region
In a bid to support education and combat school dropout rates in rural areas, the National Initiative for Human Development in the Kenitra region has enhanced its programs for the period 2019-2025 through various projects. These initiatives include the procurement of school supplies, organization of support classes, construction and equipping of student houses, and upgrading dormitories and resource rooms for students with disabilities. Additionally, there is support for second chance education classes and the regional educational guidance center.
On the occasion of the commencement of the 2025/2026 academic year, Mr. Abdelhamid El Mazoudi, the Governor of the Kenitra region and head of the regional human development committee, presided over the distribution of 36 school transport buses on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. This initiative aims to cover various rural areas at a total cost of 15,336,000 dirhams, facilitating students’ access to educational institutions and ensuring their regular attendance.
During the period from 2019 to 2024, the initiative provided approximately 9,300 students with school transport services through 131 buses, including 9 buses specifically designated for children with disabilities. These services were managed by 81 local associations utilizing participatory governance mechanisms to ensure sustainability and quality of service.
The regional human development committee affirmed that supporting education remains central to its interventions, aiming to secure a better future for upcoming generations, in line with the royal directives.
