The Moroccan government pays special attention to youth in its employment strategy.
During a field visit to Tangier to launch the 2025-2026 training season, Younes Skouri, Minister of Economic Integration, Small Business, Employment, and Skills, affirmed that youth represent a central priority in the national employment strategy.
The minister visited a vocational training center managed by a textile company in the free zone, where he announced a package of new measures, highlighted by the following:
– More than 100,000 young people will benefit this year from alternating vocational training programs that combine theoretical training with practical immersion in companies.
– The government’s commitment to finance this system for the benefit of participating companies.
– Beneficiaries will undergo a theoretical training period of two months, followed by four months within the company, during which they will receive a salary and benefits for transportation and meals.
– Targeting out-of-school and unqualified youth, who have no prior experience in production chains.
The company “Larinor,” specializing in textiles and exports, hosts this type of training. Its director, Huda Laarini, stated that the program constitutes a “win-win” equation: it offers vulnerable youth a professional training opportunity that prepares them to integrate into the job market while providing the company with a qualified workforce that meets its needs.
This strategy is part of the government’s efforts to enhance the competitiveness of the textile sector, its export capability, and the use of trained labor, contributing to the better integration of youth into the labor market.
