The Jordanian Football Association has renewed the contract of Moroccan coach Jamal Salami to continue leading the national team until the end of the 2027 Asian Cup, which also includes the qualifiers and the 2026 World Cup. This announcement was made by the association’s secretary general, Samar Nassar, who emphasized that this step represents a natural extension of the success Salami has achieved since taking charge of the “Nashama.”

This decision comes as a culmination of a historic achievement with Jordan qualifying for the World Cup for the first time, along with the qualitative leap that Salami has made in terms of performance and team harmony, reinforcing the belief in his ability to lead a new, more ambitious phase.

The Jordanian Association did not confine Salami’s role to technical duties alone, but also tasked him with developing local talents by training Jordanian coaches and integrating them within the technical staff accompanying the team during major tournaments. This approach reflects a desire to build a comprehensive system that ensures the sustainability of the project in the long term.

Salami, who has an impressive background as a former international player and experienced coach, sees this extension as a direct support from the Jordanian leadership, solidifying confidence in his future plans while reflecting the political and sports will to make a long-term investment in favor of national football.

With this decision, the Jordanian Football Association affirms its steady steps towards achieving technical stability and ensuring a sustainable working environment, especially with the upcoming participation in major continental and global events, where Jordanian fans aspire to see the “Nashama” in a more competitive light on the international stage.
