The Governor of Settat, Mohammed Ali Habouha, held an extensive meeting on Tuesday at the provincial headquarters with several Moroccan and foreign investors. The meeting aimed to discuss ways to enhance the investment climate in the region, create new job opportunities, and support the industrial, agricultural, and commercial productive sectors.
This gathering provided investors with an opportunity to present the main challenges and obstacles that hinder their projects. The governor reaffirmed the local authorities’ commitment to simplifying administrative procedures and accelerating the implementation of projects, contributing to job market revitalization and regional development.
The governor highlighted the strategic advantages of Settat, particularly its geographic location in the heart of the Casablanca-Settat region, just 60 minutes from Casablanca and 45 minutes from Mohammed V International Airport. Additionally, its proximity to the ports of Casablanca and Jorf Lasfar, supported by an advanced network of highways and railways, was noted.
He also outlined the region’s significant agricultural potentials, boasting over 100,000 hectares of arable land, with 59,000 hectares prepared for agricultural investment, as well as land earmarked for industrial and agricultural projects, and considerable assets in the renewable energy sector.
On the industrial side, the governor mentioned the existence of equipped industrial zones, primarily the Settat industrial zone spanning 500 hectares and the Sidi El Aidi industrial zone covering 120 hectares, both directly connected to the highway linking Casablanca to Marrakech.
The meeting also featured new proposals and ideas from investors regarding future projects across various sectors, which could add distinctive value to the local economic landscape.
At the conclusion of the gathering, the governor praised the active participation of investors, expressing gratitude for their positive engagement and current and future contributions to the region’s development and investment attractiveness.
